Lake Tahoe, CA - Music for Music (Your Annual Eclectic Festival)
Festival: Music for Music (Your Annual Eclectic Festival)
With financial stress and political burden suppressing the arts education and culture in the small town of Eugene, the artistically driven community peacefully fights back with whatever means necessary; new after-school music programs, art shows, The World Music Festival, and all of our communities art activities, are all ways we attempt to express our artistic culture within Chico, but is this good enough?
Two former students of CSU, Chico, Marty McLean and Cameron Scott, sought out this issue with a resolution that could raise money for local music programs through an annual benefit music festival hosted by performances of the majority of local chico bands/ artists, Music for Music (Your Annual Eclectic Festival), will resonate throughout Chico for decades to come. Jump on the "band-wagon" and help us cultivate your community and our nation's musical and artistic future by sponsoring, volunteering, or attending this music festival, for which after production costs, all profit goes to the yearly chosen local music foundation. This year, in 2013, we will be donating to a deserving non-profit organization that is undeclared at this time.

Location: American Legion: South Lake Tahoe, CA
The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization. Focusing on service to veterans, servicemembers and communities, the Legion evolved from a group of war-weary veterans of World War I into one of the most influential nonprofit groups in the United States. Membership swiftly grew to over 1 million, and local posts sprang up across the country. Today, membership stands at over 2.4 million in 14,000 posts worldwide. The posts are organized into 55 departments: one each for the 50 states, along with the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, France, Mexico and the Philippines.
Over the years, the Legion has influenced considerable social change in America, won hundreds of benefits for veterans and produced many important programs for children and youth.

Beneficiary of 2013: Tahoe Tot Spot: Tot Spot Home
Tahoe Tot Spot was founded in 2007 by gymnastics coach and trainer Amy Thompson. Having young children of her own gave her motivation to create a place that encouraged the networking of new families while providing activities that would enrich young children physically, artistically, and socially.
It was an instant hit. In three short years The Tot Spot had expanded to offer a multitude of programs to hundreds of local families, quickly developing a following among Tahoe visitors as well.
Now approaching its sixth anniversary, the Tot Spot has become the hub in the South Lake Tahoe region where children, moms, dads and entire families come to socialize, learn, play and exercise their talents.
Programs offered through Tahoe Tot Spot include Gymnastics, Music, Art, Open Play, Adult Classes, and more.
